There are many variables affecting the Quality of Service for both wired and wireless broadband communications. We present SpeedSpy, a web-based application (HTML5 and X3DOM) that enables the 3D visualization of upload and download speeds for wired and wireless broadband in a given geo-location. SpeedSpy provides a mobile or desktop view into online public data from the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Using the rich sensor and data capabilities of HTML5, such as geo-location services, access to on-board orientation sensors, and dynamic web queries, we have built a novel and flexible interface to view and interact with this high-dimensional geo-referenced data.
