Improving performance of real-symmetric adaptive array by signal blocking
K.W. Lo · IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems · 1995
The use of signal blocking to improve the performance of a directional constrained adaptive array with real-symmetric weights is proposed. With signal blocking, the adapted beamwidth of the array is broadened, thereby reducing the effect of pointing errors, and the output signal-to-noise-plus-interference ratio (SNIR) converges with less signal samples. A modified sample matrix inversion (SMI) algorithm is described, which allows the adaptive weight vector to be computed more efficiently. Computer simulation results are presented for illustration.>
