Handover issues and call admission control in cellular systems

We review some of the methods proposed for the evaluation of the handover-related system performance, before examining distributed call admission control (DCAC). DCAC, which was proposed by Naghshineh and Schwarz (1995), and later enhanced by Baldo and Aghvami (see ICC'99, Vancouver, Canada), is presented in this paper and evaluated against other existing handover-related admission control schemes using multimedia traffic.
