FUZZY SYSTEMS IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE

Zong‐Ping Luo, Kai‐Nan An · International Journal of General Systems · 2001

The most attractive feature of the fuzzy theory to biological science researchers is the simplicity of fuzzy mathematical expression, which is extremely useful for reasoning the problem and for controlling the process in biological areas where precise mathematical models can hardly be developed. In this review, recent progress of fuzzy theory in biomedical science is illustrated in four areas: device control, biological control, classification and pattern recognition, and prediction and association.
