Observations On The Relative Importance Of Different Trail Families In Meteor Burst Communications
S.W. Melville · 2005
This pager gives some of the results obtained from monitoring systems over different path lengths, using both mid and end path meteor burst links. The various family contributions and overall throughput capacities of meteor burst systems are discussed, these results being determined according to both ‘ideal’ situations where received power over the monitored links was the only factor considered, and also according to ‘real-world’ simulations where all the factors that would affect performance (such as propagation delays, synchronisation time, etcetera) were considered. The results obtained are compared with those predicted by earlier work in the field, and some reaons for discrepancies are postulated.
