Aggressive handover algorithm for mobile networks

Djamal Zeghlache · 2002

Aggressive reservation as an additional means of reducing call loss due to failed hand over requests and call blocking in a multiple call hand-off context is proposed. Channel assignments of on-going calls are reconfigured to make room for new hand-off and access requests. Channel borrowing is used and priority for hand-offs is achieved by queuing and reserving a subset of available channels for their exclusive use. Simulation is conducted to assess the potential gains of the proposed approach.>
