GNU Khata is a completely Free financial accounting software developed general use in India, and developed by a group of professionals based at the Indian Institue of Technology, Mumbai, India. The software is now in production use, and has several innovative features that target SMEs and non-for-profit organizations. It is technologically robust and scalable, and represents an important milestone for Free Software communities in India.
