Detection and hop-rate estimation of random FH signals via autocorrelation technique
Char‐Dir Chung, A. Polydoros · 2002
A multiple-hop-observation autocorrelation (AC) processing is modeled to intercept the random frequency-hopping signals in broadband noise. Operating on the multiple-hop autocorrelation samples of the received signal, a hop-rate estimation scheme and a multiple-hop detection scheme are proposed and analyzed. The proposed detection scheme does not depend on the knowledge of the signal parameters, such as signal power, hop transition times, hopping frequencies and phases, and hop rate. The performance comparison of this detector and the multiple-hop radiometer is given. The hop-rate estimator is a maximum-likelihood estimator based on the power sum of multiple-hop-observation AC samples. Its estimation performance is analyzed and confirmed by simulation. A single parameter was found to be adequate for measuring the estimation performance.>
