IN and TINA: migration and integration

Over the last few years, a need for new advanced open service architectures has emerged. The intelligent network (IN) and TINA are the main architectures, which meet a large part of the requirements. The analysis we present of IN and TINA architectures with emphasis on their functionality shows the complementary aspect of the two proposals and calls for integrating some IN and TINA concepts in the same architecture. Several aspects of that integration are also outlined.
