Rapid prototyping of communication architectures

A. Kirschbaum, Manfred Glesner · 2002

Proposes a rapid prototyping system (RPS) focusing on interprocessor/inter-module communication. Integrated in a design environment for embedded mixed hardware/software systems, the RPS facilitates design space exploration and validation of communication links. The reprogrammable system architecture allows the prototyping of different topologies, communication types and protocols and is supported by a powerful tool-set for automatic system configuration. An integrated hardware monitoring facility extracts online data about I/O-channel activities for performance evaluation and for the enhancement of arbitrary communication channels within the system.
