Abstract — In this paper, we propose and study a novel dis-tributed vehicle traffic information system using a wireless sensor network. Besides the system model, the contributions of the paper include a road network aware information publication protocol, a distributed query processing protocol with transient memory, and the adaptive interaction model between the two, all in the context of a vehicle traffic information system.
