A study on storing managed objects in object oriented database for local fiber optical networks following management information tree

Four basic methods of storing managed objects in an object-oriented database are proposed. The query performance of the four methods is evaluated. The results indicate that the structure of the directories in the database influences query performance. It is more effective to store objects using the directory function than without. It is more effective to make the width bigger than the number of level. The query performance decreases as both the number of directories and the number of levels increase. There is an optimal structure that yields the minimum query. The relationship between the number of directories and the ratio of width to number of levels is considered. The directory index reflects features of the database and can be used to mark database structures.>
