An HTTP-based Context Negotiation Model for Realizing the User-Aware Web

Juan Ignacio Vázquez, Diego López–de–Ipiña · 2005

paper, we present the WebProfiles model, a negotiation mechanism that allows HTTP-based clients and servers to adapt services seamlessly by providing contextual information prior to service execution in order to obtain a more adapted service experience. The negotiation process, implemented extending HTTP traditional interactions, provides evidence about how the WebProfiles model can be used to facilitate user experience when surfing the web, by automatically negotiating user's preferences with the server.
