Supporting asynchronous telemedicine: multimedia mail vs. the World Wide Web vs. replicated databases

This paper investigates the development and implementation of an asynchronous telemedicine application for the purposes of tele-consultation in remote regions. Three applications were developed: MailTeleMed, WebTeleMed and MCLTeleMed utilizing various communication and database models.
