A Joint Chinese Named Entity Recognition and Disambiguation System

In this paper we describe an integrated ap-proach for named entity recognition and dis-ambiguation in Chinese. The proposed method relies on named entity recognition (NER), en-tity linking and document clustering models. Different from other tasks of named entities, both classification and clustering are consid-ered in our models. After segmentation, in-formation extraction and indexing in the pre-processing step, the test names in the docu-ments would be judged to be common words or named entities based on hidden Markov model (HMM). And then each predicted entity should be linked to the category in the given knowledge base (KB) according to the charac-
