Towards an Adaptive Calculus of Granules

We propose a notion of a granule of knowledge as an atom in the mereological algebra generated locally in time from the actual state of the triple . We illustrate our approach with examples of rough set as well as fuzzy set approach. A calculus of granules over distributed systems is presented which generalizes both rough and fuzzy approaches.
