Wideband Source Location In The Time Domain
Yves Grenier · 2005
SUMMARY. This communication describes the time domain implementation of a method for locating wideband sources received on an array of sensors. The method, proposed recently by the author, was elaborated in the frequency domain and is based upon a frequency dependent modelling of the vectors of data. This modelling permits to recover the direction of the sources as a spatial modulation rate with respect to frequency. The wideband extension of MEM method is obtained through a technique of expansion, which consists in the replacement of the data by their projections on a basis of functions of the frequency. An invariant expanded model is fitted to these projections. It expresses the evolution of a spatial model with respect to frequency. It will be shown that this method can be implemented in the time domain, the projection operations being replaced by filtering. The spatial wideband model can then be identified recursively in time.
