S-PLUS and MATLAB: A Comparison of Two Programming Environments

Andreas Futschik, Marcus Hudec · COMPSTAT · 1994

Both S-PLUS and MATLAB provide the statistical researcher with a powerful programming environment covering a wide range of tools for numeric computation and visualization. A comparative evaluation of the systems is given from the viewpoint of a statistician aiming to implement new statistical methods. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
