2DPC nanocavity excitable response is demonstrated here for the first time and can be considered as a potential neuron-like ultrafast system. We implement an InP-based L3 2DPC nanocavity. The cavity resonance is evanescently probed through an adiabatically tapered fiber. The coupling efficiency is -40%. The optical resonance of the L3 cavity, centred at -1.55 μm with a loaded quality factor of Q≅2485 is observed. The OB is achieved by probing the optical mode through the tapered fiber with a nearly resonant CW signal.
