The authors describe the characteristics of a local exchange carrier's service management system and focus on a computer-to-computer interface to a local exchange carrier's management services. Specifically, they suggest how the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) management protocols could form the basis of an interface between a local exchange carrier's service management system and a customer's integrated network management system.>
