Resource-Oriented converged network service modeling

Jinglin Li, Fangchun Yang · 2009

A new value-added service modeling method for convergence network, ROM (Resource-Oriented Modeling), is brought forward in this paper. ROM is used to abstract service capabilities into resources, thus unified resource control semantic could be used for capability description. While in traditional state-driven modeling, different interfaces and different invocation rules would lead to different semantics, it's very difficult to establish semantic mapping between different service descriptions. This paper proposes an extensive ontology system for ROM, which is supporting unified resource control semantic throughout the modeling process. Based on ROM ontology system, customers or intelligent agents could only focus on the resources' changes which they concerned. Therefore automatic service discovery, invocation, composition and interoperation is greatly simplified and flexibility.
