A focused crawler aims to search and retrieve web pages from the World Wide Web, which are related to a specific topic. Rather than visiting all accessible Web pages, a focused crawler visit only the region of the web that contains relevant pages, and at the same time, try to skip irrelevant regions. This leads to significant savings in both computation and communication resources. In this paper, we present a Context Ontology Rule Enhanced (CORE) focused web crawler. CORE crawler enhances the crawling process by making use of Ontology Based Relevant Score (OBRS) and Look Ahead Relevancy Score (LARS) calculated from adaptive rules to guide the crawling process.
