An Ontology-based Model for Mobile Agents Adaptation in Pervasive Environments

Nejla Amara-Hachmi · IEEE International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications, 2006. · 2006

This paper describes ontology-based models for supporting a component-based mobile agent self-adaptation in pervasive execution environments. The proposed ontologies, expressed in the Web Ontology Language OWL, describe the agent execution context and its composing elements. Agents' awareness about their execution context is achieved by reasoning on these ontologies in order to detect meaningful environmental changes. The agent self-adaptation is then triggered according to some adaptation policies.
