In January 2004 Anthony Davison completed his term as Joint Editor and was succeeded by Andrew Wood (University of Nottingham). Three other members of the Editorial Panel of Series B retired during the year: Associate Editors Steven Brooks, Rahul Mukerjee and Christo-pher Skinner completed their terms and were replaced in August by Ronald Butler (Colorado State University), James Hobert (University of Florida) and Guenther Walther (Stanford University). The Associate Editors play a pivotal role in maintaining the reputation of Series B as one of the world's leading statistical journals and we are as ever most grateful to the retiring and continuing members of the panel for their fine work. We are grateful also for the help of all those who have acted as referees for the journal. Their names will be published in the annual report of the Society. We especially thank the Errol Street staff who are involved in the publication process: Executive Editor of the Royal Statistical Society Martin Owen and Editorial Assistant Charlotte Stovell.
