Modeling of an electrical power transmission system using hybrid systems
George K. Fourlas · 2005
In this work we proceed to the modeling of an electric power transmission system, using hybrid input/output automata (HIOA), based on a framework presented in our previous work. The system is assumed to consist of several distinct components. Some of them such as loads drive the continuous dynamics while others such as protection devices exhibit event-driven discrete dynamics. Such behavior is characterized by interactions between continuous dynamics and discrete events. Therefore power systems are an important example of hybrid systems
