SEPARATION OF ELASTIC AND INELASTIC TRAFFIC AND ITS IMPACT ON PROTOCOLS PERFORMANCE

Agata Krempa · 2008

Abstract – In the article, separation of elastic and inelastic traffic is proposed as a solution to negative effect UDP flows have on TCP flows. The paper familiarize with problem of coexistence of different types of traffic, present simulation results of protocols performance when TCP and UDP flows are separated and compare them with results when both types of traffic are mixed. Index Terms – TCP, UDP, queue, elastic traffic, inelastic
