Objective: The aim of this study is to develop potable weight scale and body pressure monitoring system for wheelchair users. Background: Wheelchair users have limitation of activity because of their lives on wheelchairs with fixed sitting position for long time. Therefore, obesity of wheelchair users is much higher than normal people. Also, continuous pressure on hip make bedsore occurs frequently. Thus, purpose of this study is that to develop potable device which is able to measure the wheelchair users' weight and body pressure to prevent obesity and bedsore. Method: The potable device measuring weight and body pressure is composed of strain gauge and FSR sensors. This device makes it possible to measure weight and body pressure on wheelchair. Result: The monitoring system which checks the users’ weight scale and body pressure in real time is developed. Conclusion: The device gives critical information of wheelchair users to help them can control obesity and bedsore. Application: This device will have a positive effect on preventing obesity and bedsore for disabled people living on wheelchair.
