A decomposition of the complexity of system development processes

Donald Robert Fitzwater · 2005

Large scale system developments are notoriously expensive and time consuming with a poor record of success. Without eliminating the designers and engineers, we must find an automatable methodology to reduce both costs and development time, while improving the early testability of the design. A set of requirements for system specifications at many levels of abstraction is developed and exploited to support a large domain of system development processes. The formalization of development processes leads to inherently more manageable projects and is a necessity for an automated methodology.
