The advancement in hardware and algorithm leads to exploration of geographical data in 3D immersive way. The conventional GIS are unable to handle the complex nature of the spatial data. Virtual Environment has a significant potential to extend the knowledge discovery of GIS data in GIS application. Nowadays, GIS R&D cannot accept any longer only 2D geometry if the actual shape of the earth surface is investigated for exploration and environmental purposes, the representation of GIS data are becoming more challenging for the GIS software developer. Two core obstacles, that is, database management and fast real-time visualization are main difficulties that encounter nowadays. Our specific focus is to discuss a framework for developing multidisplay virtual GIS system. This framework composes of three main components such as data storage and retrieval, processing capabilities and simulator engine. Scene management algorithm will be used to in retrieval huge terrain data stored in GIS server. Multi-resolution terrain algorithms will be used to get real-time data visualization and avoid memory overloading. This framework requires intensive studies in virtual GIS architecture, real-time computer graphics and interactive parallel system. We provide the technical description on integrating of those components.
