Abstract-A novel technique based on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is presented for analysis of multicomponent amplitude and frequency modulated signals. In the process, the multicomponent signal is decomposed in its constituents on the time-frequency plane and the analysis is carried out on individual components. It is demonstrated that the separation of components for analysis brings many advantages in the proposed method, viz., simplicity in procedure, and noise immunity. The developed technique is employed for analysis-synthesis of speech phonemes. I.
