The large-scale distribution of matter in the Universe: a multiresolution analysis
Benjamin C. Bromley · 2003
A wavelet analysis, in the context of multiresolution, is performed to study the distribution of matter in the Universe at extragalactic scales. Specifically, a three-dimensional Haar system is used to extract statistical properties of large-scale structure. Despite the simplicity of the wavelet form, the method is effective for identifying general properties of gravitational clustering phenomena and for discriminating between cosmological models as realized in N-body simulations.>
