A data processing curriculum development methodology

Michael M. Gorman, John F. Rogers, Edward A. Embick · 1970

This paper presents a methodology that can be implemented in a corporate or academic setting to develop a data processing curriculum. Even though this methodology does not present new concepts, it does gather together several useful, tried and proven techniques, namely, Work Study, Job Analysis, and Vocational Course Construction, which, when combined and utilized in your data processing environment, generates training programs that will produce graduates trained especially to meet your corporate requirements. This methodology, based on a “wholistic” approach to the creation of a functionally useful “D. P. body”, analyzes an operational job, and creates a training program for it in a reasonably short time period.
