With rapid development in digitalized technology the use of images has become a major necessity of the technology oriented world. This has led to the use of highly secured and integrated images. This paper intends to enhance the security of images by using Modified Secure Image Encryption (M-SIP) and compare its efficiency with Secure Image Encryption (SIP). M-SIP intelligently encrypts as well as decrypts the images in a less complex manner. The pixels of an image in M-SIP undergo symmetric encryption by converting Color Image to Grayscale Image, Baker's Transformation function, XOR gray scale function, inverse gray scale function and Shift function. For secure decryption the above steps are implemented in reverse order.
