Comparing Inter- and Intra-observer Variability of a Segmentation Algorithm and Expert Radiologists in Pulmonary Contour Extraction

In this work we access the performance of a pulmonary segmentation algorithm studying the inter- and intra-observer variability of two expert radiologists through statistical methods and comparing them to the variability between our algorithm and each of the observers. We found that our algorithm, in the used set of images, behaves approximately as a third expert. 1
