Development of tuning type partial discharge detector with noise discrimination and computer aided automation system
Kenji Horii · 2003
A description is given of a tuning-type detector which has a tuning frequency of 400 kHz with a bandwidth of +or-45 kHz, damping the oscillation within 20 mu s. The detector has a sensitivity less than 1 pC for a test object of several hundred pF in capacitance without interference from the broadcasting radio frequency. The pulse resolution of 20 mu s makes it possible to count pulses at rates less than 3000 pulse/s. For the elimination of external pulse noises, a pulse signal gate system discriminating logically between signal and noise with the difference of pulse polarity was developed along with a balanced detection circuit. An automatic measurement system aided by a personal computer was also developed for the speed-up and high reliability of the measurement.>
