Measurement-based call admission control: a heavy-traffic framework

A heavy-traffic framework is presented for analysing the performance of measurement-based admission control schemes for an integrated services network. Issues of estimation error and estimation memory as well as the interplay between call and burst-level dynamics are addressed.
