Perceptually optimized 3D graphics
M. Reddy · IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications · 2001
The author uses models of visual perception to remove nonperceptible components of a 3D computer graphics scene and optimize the system's performance. He considers how much detail can be removed from the scene without the user noticing, and how much added benefit these optimizations actually bring.
