Lower bounds to eigenvalues of quantum mechanical systems

Abstract Procedures are presented which are expected to produce good numerical lower bounds to eigenvalues for Hamiltonians having continuous spectra. Further, it is observed how these lower bounds can be utilized in other estimation methods.
