Joint optimal QAM signal constellation and detector design in additive color noise channel

This paper describes a technique for reducing the symbol error probability of a QAM communication system using a joint optimal signal constellation and a detector design method over a color noise channel. Simulation results showed the proposed design method can achieve lower symbol error than that of a conventional detector.
