New commutative group codes

The construction of commutative group codes for the Gaussian channel is considered. All subgroups of (Z/sub Q/)/sup L/, Q=8,L=2,3, with order 2/sup m/, have been tested and new optimal codes were obtained. Practical implementation features are discussed.
