Control loop simulation of flexible manufacturing system

Flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) are simulated using closed loop control systems. The technique used is based on the mean value analysis of queues (MVAQ). Such a simulation technique provides for the prescriptive analysis of FMS as opposed to the predictive techniques which have been used to study FMS. The simulation technique is implemented on a distributed control system (DCS) and is illustrated through examples.>
