Avoiding and Resolving Initiative Conflicts in Dialogue

Fan Yang, Peter A. Heeman · 2007

The results show that conversants try to avoid initiative conflicts, but when these conflicts occur, they are efficiently resolved by linguistic devices, such as volume. 1
