Implementing OSI and Internet managed object libraries
Sebastian Abeck · 2002
A predominant task in the field of integrated network management today is to support standardized managed object libraries. In particular, two different types of manufacturer-independent libraries must be taken into consideration: the OSI libraries (e.g. from ISO and NM Forum) and the Internet MIBs from the Internet Activities Board. A powerful software development environment is necessary to be able to solve the task of managed object implementation in an effective and efficient way. The authors consider the inductive modeling technology from Cabletron to be an adequate approach. Experience of prototype implementations of both OSI and Internet managed object libraries based on this new technology is presented in the paper.>
