Design a jini-based service broker for home networking
Hsu Kuo-Wei · 2006
The increased use of electronic service has opened a new horizon of proliferation in the home networking field and has invented a new term Service-Oriented Architecture. In a distributed system like a home network environment consisting of a large number of independent devices and services, it is practically required to apply a framework of composing or combining service. The goal in the development of service combination is to add variety of functional operations as well as interaction among services, share data of software modules, and force devices and services working together in a coordinated fashion. This paper proposes a Jini-based Broker Service that constructs a framework to achieve the behavior coordination of services. The major contributions of this paper are: first, the concept of combined service is abstracted into a number of cooperative services; second, it provides a programming framework that allows for combining services dynamically.
