An adaptive synchronization controller was previously developed for multiple spacecraft in formation ight (MSFF). The control law requires the knowledge of the states of the other follower spacecraft through communication channels to maintain the formation. This papers considers the e ects of intersatellite communication loss that may cause the spacecraft diverge away from their desired trajectories. A technique is proposed to manage the controller during the periods of communication loss until communication is restored. A computationally simple algorithm for managing communication loss is proposed, where its e ectiveness is demonstrated through simulations.
