Retrieval of images using rich region descriptions

We present a combination of techniques which can improve recall in image retrieval systems: a fast image segmentation algorithm suitable for color images which enables one to describe images in a database using multiple segmentations. A simple example shows that the use of a "rich description" satisfies a broader range of queries.
