On issues of data warehouse architectures – managing australian resources data
Shastri Lakshman Nimmagadda, Heinz Dreher · 2009
Australia produces one third of the world's mineral resources and has sufficient petroleum resources for its economic growth. Volumes of resources data have been accumulated and geographically distributed in many resources companies. The existing data can be logically and physically organized and explored so that more of these natural resources hidden under great depths of the earth's crust can be tapped without additional exploration and development efforts. Modeling and mapping of resources data entities, dimensions and objects reduce the complexity of resources data in the databases, and aim at to enhance the value derivable information. Entity-Relationship and Object Oriented data mapping techniques and Multidimensional Object Modeling and data warehouse, accommodating these multidimensional data are discussed and described.
