Automated construction of real world-oriented database with gaze detection

We propose a real world-oriented database(RWODB). Most of the entities in a RWODB correspond to those in real world. However, real world-oriented database is a database which projects the real world itself into a database. In this paper, we discuss a framework of personal RWODB and its implementation. The personal RWODB is automatically constructed in a portable computer without explicit triggers by a user. Instead, information acquisition in RWODB is triggered by the detection of the user’s gaze, which is the clue of his/her object of interest. Providing the personal RWODB enables a user to access visual information which he/she may lose but once concentrated on. It is expected to enhance a person’s memory to recall visual information and assist his/her information management related to the real world.
