Electronic mail abstract submissions increase

M. Catherine DeVito · Eos · 1991

The number of meeting abstracts submitted to AGU by electronic mail is growing. Two hundred electronic mail submissions were received for the Fall Meeting, compared with only 30 for the Spring Meeting. Electronic transmission allows presenters to submit abstracts up to the abstract deadline without risking rejection due to late arrival. AGU had to reject 40 Fall Meeting abstracts that arrived after the deadline because of slow mail service. Electronic submission offers presenters the chance to submit abstracts even on the last day.
