Removal of 'staircase' effects in coarsely quantized video sequences

A postprocessing algorithm to remove 'staircase' effects present in a coarsely quantized video sequence is presented. This algorithm uses order-statistics filters and is easy to implement in real-time systems. Simulation results are presented.>
